What is the History of Your Home? “Our home was built in 1996 the year we moved to Coeur d’Alene from a cabin in the woods in Bonners Ferry. We were its first occupants. It was built by Classic Homes a company known for its quality constructions. The basement was unfininished when we moved in. Years later in 2020 we finished the basement & put in a bathroom down there. It is a great space for our daughters and gives all of us a little more privacy and living space." What Do You Love About It? “I love our large backyard. I grew a veggie garden there & had strawberries & raspberries. I love the arborvitae trees that provide a lot of privacy in the back. The love the green spaces around us. I love the mature variety of trees. I love the bike/walking paths. I espcially loved walking my grandson to Bluegrass Park so he could play in the playground or run through the sprinklers.” Why Did You Buy or Build It? “We bought it to be close to Kootenai Health. My husband & I were nurses so we could ride our bikes to work if we wanted to. The hospital is only 3 miles from our home. We also liked the proximity of the elementary, junior, & senior high schools so our children could walk to & from school safely.” What Will You Miss About It? “I’ll miss our bike & walking paths. I will miss being so close to Lake Coeur d’Alene. Again if we wanted we could ride our bikes to Lake Cd’A. I will miss being able to walk to the high school& enjoy their plays, concerts or improv performances. I will miss the peace & calmness I fell when I walk through the front door. A place where I belong. I’ll miss the smell of the flowers & especially the Linden trees’ on my early morning walks.” What Will You Remember? The 1st night we spent in the house after living with wood heat. We all had our sleeping bags laid out on the rug in front of the fireplace and I said “Oh I thiink I’ll light a fire.” I went to the wall & poof instant cozy warm fire, as I threw the firelight switch on! I will miss our get togethers here with friends from work, sometimes 20 of us at a time whether it was a going away party, baby shower, cookie exchange, book club, pot luck or sushi party we had so much fun & this house was setup perfectly to entertain that many people. Where is the Best Window? “The West facing kitchen window because I have witnessed some magical morning light there & wonderful colorful sunsets that painted the sky & clouds and assortment of color. I also watched & loved & babied our beautiful maple tree that sists outside this window - it has grown into a beautiful shade providing tree. So colorful in the fall.” What is the Most Beautiful Thing About Your Home? “I love our large corner lot. I love the ample space it gives us. I love our handicappped shower because we’ve been able to take care of friends and families that have been hospitalized & needed a place to recover for a few days & this shower made it easy for them to stay clean & comfortable. I love it at Christmas: how cheerful, joyful, & inviting our house is. This house has good bones!” Which Room is Your Favorite? “Because I love to cook for my family & friends, I think I love my kitchen the best. I love opening the table & gathering my loved ones around it as I serve a scrumptious meal! I love the talks we have at that table. I love all of us sitting down to dinner & talking about our day or thoughts. I love watching the light filter through our skylights. I love the archways. I love the laundry room which served us as a large pantry also. I love the coziness of the large living room downstairs with the warm gas stove. I love watching movies downstairs on the wall in front of or beside the stairs with popcorn, it’s as good as going to the commercial movies to me.” What Momentous Things Happened to You Under This Roof? “This house allowed our whole family to be together because before we would commute to our jobs from Bonners Ferry on alternate days so either my husband or myself were with the children. watching my children make & keep amazing wonderful friends. Why is This a Good Place to Live? “Its location is the best! We are miinutes from a lake, a park, a trail, a hospital, a major highway, schools, entertainment, restaurants, grocery stores, art galleries & museums, ski resorts, and quilt stores. Instead of spending so much time to get to where we are going we get to spend time there instead.” “I know you too will grow to love this house & home.
